What to do nearby

In the village of Momjan you can explore the remains of a medieval castle and visit the museum “House of Castles”. The surrounding area is renowned for its wine, particularly the Momian Muscat, which you can have a taste of in the many wineries nearby.

Hiking and mountain biking enthusiasts can enjoy the Parenzana trails, where a narrow-gauge railway, operating in northwestern Istria between 1902 and 1935, used to connect the ports of Trieste and Poreč with villages and towns in the inner parts of the Istrian peninsula. You can also marvel at the Zingarella and Butori waterfalls, both found close by.

Northern Istria is known for its many medieval towns scattered across this area: Grožnjan, Motovun, Oprtalj and Buzet are the ones you cannot miss out on visiting.
